We met Anna through our Scavenger Life blog because she also sells on eBay for extra cash (and fun of course). We were thrilled to find out that she also runs a successful vacation rental long distance from California. Before we got our rental started this year, we got a lot of good advice from Anna on how to get started and run things properly. Her story is inspiring because she's able to run her place from about 1100 miles away with very little friction. Check out her lovely abode in Silverthorne, CO and her guidebook to the area. If you want to stay there, she's giving fellow listeners a coupon for $50 off. Thanks Anna! Coupon code: Shampoo4u

Great interview, thanks for sharing Anna.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like just an ideal location, I've skied all the areas you talked about.
What a fantastic rental, hope to try it sometime.
It's a great location. I had a men's group come stay from Canada and they skied Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Vail. No matter where we have lived in the country, we have always been season pass holders at Copper Mountain. You only have to ski 4-5 days to make a season pass pay for itself.
DeleteI've always heard that long distance landlording is a nightmare. Nice to hear it from someone who's successful at it. Thanks for sharing Anna and J&R for posting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't set out to be a long distance landlord. It's not something I would have chosen to do, but with our move to California we chose to keep the property versus sell it. We very much enjoy the area and we love the mountain views. There are so many things to do in summer and winter.
Deleteagreed, i love Anna's story because she proves you can run a rental successfully long distance or even if you live in the same place, you can trust people you hire to clean and make things work if you have the right folks. very inspiring.
